Holding up well but not improving. Lacks forward fruit, but lots of earth, sweat, leather and tobacco notes. Complex. Recommend open to air for a minimum of 60 minutes prior to drinking.

Tastes like an Old OR Pinot...lots of dirt, forest and mushroom notes. Still holding up as I would expect from one of Gary's wines. Austere, not much forward fruit, but lots of complex flavors. I don't see any reason to hold this wine any longer.

Pale ruby color, nose initially the classic kind of funky barnyard thing, but evolves over a few hours to a more fragrant, spicy thing with hints of nutmeg. On the palate, abundant tart red cherries, biting acidity, not overly complex but decent length. Overall I was pleasantly surprised; a lot more in this bottle than many a lower-priced pinot offers.

The nose is subdued, if not weak, with tart berries, with wet leaves, graphite, and cola.
Light to medium in body, with powdery tannins and just enough acidity. Raspberries, strawberries, elderberries, and plums, with cola and turmeric, finishing smooth and savory.

A little green, but still a good wine. As with other writers, I did get a bit of barnyard funkiness on the nose. Horseleather, Cassis and black raspberry notes with white pepper. Drinking well now.
