First bottle. Initially drank this with only 30 minutes of air which was a mistake: opaque purple, muted nose, tasted like very ripe napa valley fruit (blueberry cobbler?) but in a too sweet way, medium+ tannins with a short finish. Day 2 this is much better. Nose requires some coaxing to find sweet oak. Much more subdued black cherry on the palate, which I expected from mountain fruit. Still quite tannic. I will wait a year before opening the next one.

This wine continues to evolve beautifully. On the nose, a slight flaw in that the nose is a tinge hot with alcohol, and other than that, not much there. But on the palate, a bone dry, but rich amalgam of blueberry, black cherry, slate/graphite, and tobacco. This has a wonderful structure that is well balanced.
This wine was compared with a 2017 Whitehall Lane cabernet, and this was the better wine.

Smokey nose (good toasted oak smoke), with a funkiness of mushroom, some blackberry and a dollop of black cherry. A big backbone here, suitable for very long aging. A well balanced and delicious blend.

3 hour decant - ate with steak and truffle butter. Nice dark fruit but subtle with the steak - actually was better drinking after dinner. Maybe not big enough for the truffle butter. Enjoyed more after dinner where the smooth tannin and oak came through a bit more. Delicious stuff! One of those wines where you’re sad when there’s none left in the bottle!

We love serving this to friends that drink top shelf Napa wines. Top shelf wine at a very reasonable price.
