The fruit for this wine comes from the original Concongella Vineyard and is a 70/30 split between Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir . The Pinot Meunier coming from vines planted in 1970 and the Pinot Noir from the Best’s Old Clone
Colour pale ruby translucent pink to clear on the rim with magenta hues 15/15 Nose med intensity of red fruits cherry strawberry, cranberry , fragrant rose petal, citrus peel , white pepper, more Pinot Meunier dominant 28/30 Palate medium bodied , the pale Colour belies the power of this wine , complex palate with red fruits and spice, soft tannins , very long finish 42/44 Overall I wa a little confused at first as to the combination of the two grape varieties but checking with the maker it is 70/30 blend with a qualifier that while drinking well now it bests years are ahead of it ie 20+ years . I enjoyed this wine in its youth and look forward to following its development 10/11
