Very nice. Goes well with everything. Don’t test me, I know there are things red blends don’t pair with, but I just had football food then very spicy Thai dinner and it was lovely with both. Nice flavors, low tannins.

Visiting Vancouver and the Willamette Valley; 8/26/2021-8/30/2021 (Vancouver, WA and the Willamette Valley, OR): Maryhill's 2018 Winemaker's Red is an unspecified blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc, sourced from numerous Columbia Valley vineyards. This particular bottle was uncorked and serially sampled over the ensuing three hours, showing improvement during the first 90 minutes after opening. Black cherry and black currant aromas and flavors are accented with coriander, tobacco and licorice. Medium-bodied, fresh and seamlessly alcoholic (14.1%), it wraps its flavors with sweet tannins and a modicum of oak. Unfortunately it thins quite dramatically on the mid-palate and concludes with a truncated finish. Likely the result of overcropping, this red is drinkable but does not represent particularly good value (even it its low price). Drink now-2024.
