  Nose: rose, ripe blueberry, then quickly blows off leaving something like a teriyaki beef jerky behind.
  
  Taste: Light, almost watery in texture. Cherry-flavoured hard candy that persists through a medium finish, a slight bit of stemminess. There must be some acid since the wine is not at all flabby, but it definitely does not stand out. Similarly with the tannins - just a bit, but very smooth.
  
  Only my second carignan, the first being a Chilean that I found very good. I also like this one. It's fresh (medium-ish acidity), fruity, easy. Might even be ok to serve chilled in the summer. Not a wine to spend much time thinking about. Would buy again in limited quantities.

  Tasted after a 90 minute decant.
  Medium to dark ruby in colour with lovely aromas of earthy/herbal, sweet black fruit & a hint of oak.
  On the palate, medium bodied tart black fruit, blueberry/cassis, mint/tobacco, slightly floral/herbal, well integrated background oak, high acidity, medium soft tannins & a long finish to spice/pepper.

  dark ruby, clear. smells young, green, tart, like cranberry cocktail. straightaway, the palate is tart, sour, rhubarb, sour cherry, vegetal, some slight bitterness. it's briefly prickly on entry with crunchy acidity and some tannic grip on the back end yet (paradoxically) silky all at once with a nice aftertaste that defies the earlier bitterness. there may be upside with this... time will tell.
