Colour is purply crimson and noticeable legs. Nose shows tar, red cherry, rhubarb and undergrowth whilst seeming medicinal. Silky and full bodied in profile showing tar and red fruit in a bitter sweet midpalate which carries over in the finish. Goes well with cuisine and recommend serving on the cooler side. A top notch Barbera. 14% ABV

Popped in poured, decanted for 90 minutes and then enjoyed over the next several hours. The 2019 Cesar Bussolo Barbera d’Alba “Vigna Santa Lucia” pours a bright ruby color with a near opaque core. Medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is redolent of berry fruit: blackberries, blueberries, and brambles along with fresh basil, black licorice, sarsaparilla, dry earth, and some spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes on the nose with savory minerals in the long finish. Based on this experience and the fact that this hardly budged as the hours rolled by, it gives me the impression that this has a very long life ahead. Try again after 2025 and enjoy through 2035.

Dark ruby in colour. Forest floor, black cherry, plums, charcoal, and sweet spices on a truly captivating nose which demands continual revisits. Medium bodied, fine tannins with waves of delicious cherry fruit that goes on and on. There's freshness, the acidity seems on point, and there's great balance and the oak is not sticking out at all. Best Barbera experience to date. From Zalto Universal. 14% ABV.
N.B. On a 24 hours later revisit, it was good but not performing at the same level - suggest serving PnP to get the aromatic elixir.

Easy drinking Barbera
Pepper and spicy notes. Wish it had bit more acidity
