Fruity Peppery and tannic, grippy Thinner and more tannic and acidic, no fullness on the palate
Earthy dirty forest floor, intense deep ruby Spicy black pepperydeep black flavor-not really fruit at all not sure what actually After some air, more fruit, still dark but at least it’s there, warm spices are starting to warm in

Nose is more black fruits than the palate which ends with cranberry or maybe even rhubarb. Medium plus acid. Medium tannins. Long finish for this price point. Drinking well now. Might improve over the next year or two. I got 6 of these for $13 a bottle which is a great value.
BTW, I was confused between this wine and a Clos Apalta, which may be a different, and more expensive, wine. I believe I’m not the only one who may be making this mistake.

As good a balanced, sophisticated cabernet-based red wine for $13 as can possibly exist. 75% cabernet, 15% syrah and 10% carmenere.

Dry, somewhat sour cherries, fairly tannic. Good with steak, no doubt. Likely to age pretty well from here.
Yes, Clos Apalta is the "big sister" wine, 5x the price. Confusing naming convention.
