This wine needs food !! I consumed this Sangioveses/Merlot blend over four days in a kitchen counter test for agablllity. This $13 Tuscana from WTSO held up to the test; acid forward early and found a delightful integrated complexity as it softened. Perfect composite cork, easily removed. Medium ruby color with good clarity. Aromas and flavors of raspberry, cherry, baking spice, and a hint of dustiness with a medium to long finish. This wine needs time and could benefit from decanting.

Bright and ripe cherries, black plums and some toasted sweet aromatic star anise and cinnamon. A popular nose. Rich and fresh palate. Full and polished mid-palate with spice box on a bed of zesty red fruits. Paired very well with grilled lamb rack. Finish could be longer. Drink with an hour of decanting for the tannins to mellow. Made to be drank within a decade of vintage.

Surprisingly wonderful. Quite easy drinking yet full of more complex notes, and extremely well balanced. Notes of blueberry, raspberry, and a touch of cedar, with just a little cinnamon on the finish.

Great, chicken puttanesca, the salty and acid in the dish complemented this and made it’s slightly off dry nature particularly appreciated. Chardonnay easily noted in acid but some boost from viogner notable as well. Sauv flew under my radar.

So good, smooth, full of blended red and dark fruit flavors, and well balanced. Sad this is my last bottle.
