Certainly interesting but I found it a bit harsh. Perhaps a good lesson why monastrell is a minority blending grape? ~ Deep Clay tawny colour. Oak and blackberry with definite alcohol on nose. Hit hard on palate. Pan fried black fruit. Some pine sawdust in mid late palate on route to off-dry finish. M+ acidity. Coarse tannins at upper canines and notably in roof of mouth. had some nice sips where I felt like I was learning something about the grape but overall not a super positive experience. ~
