Served to us at a dinner party, paired with pasta alla ragu. Once again, a delicious food pairing. It was decanted, but I don't know for how long - with some tertiary characteristics creeping in - leather, forest floor. This wine is right in its drinking window, showing no signs of decline. Mocali ages with botti so any oak influence was subtle. This is probably the oldest Brunello I've had in recent times, and it was such a treat to taste one that's held up so well.

Still holding up nicely. Dusty dark but obvious old color. Mushroom, wet forrest and deep dark cherry. Over the top in the nose, but still quite fresh taste. Certainly worth drinking, and a good example on why it is fun to drink older wine. Would not keep longer though.

Interesting nose of old saddle leather, red cherries and flowers. Medium-bodied and still quite tannic and fresh! Clearly in decline, this was probably better 2-3 years ago, nonetheless, it is still a joy to drink! 91

97 and still going strong. Luscious wine to drink sip by sip. Long silky finish. Shy nose for the first hour then ripped red fruits.

Had lost most of its fruit - nose had some off notes - drinkable but past it’s prime. My other ‘97 Brunello’s are still drinking well
