Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 89.3 points

  • 14% alcohol, imported by Vinamericas Inc, Miami, Florida; composite cork, 2 mm maximum wine seepage, cork aroma of sour fruit, cork with the glue binder, and wood; medium to heavy weight foil; medium legs, dark ruby red; nose is fruit forward, raspberries are prominent; opened, oxygenated via Vinturi, and tasted at 13 degrees C; a full-bodied wine, the tannins are strong, almost astringent, woody, traces of passion fruit and lychee, and the ever-present raspberries; also vanilla and sandalwood; in the composition of the wine are interwoven various disparate elements into a seamless whole, with an attractive long finish reminiscent of spearmint; pair with a good Kobe beef steak or with long-marinated St Louis ribs; the only other reviewer of this wine and vintage to show a score gave it a 91; I see no reason to differ

  • PNP. Dark red color. On nose, dark cherry, dill, strawberry - not showing a lot. On palate, similar flavor profile to nose with medium body, medium acidity, low tannins and long finish. Very smooth. 91+/-

  • Pujanza doesn’t bottle according to DOCG system. All the wines are 12-14m, and all (except for Hado) are single vineyard. Eat 1998, 40ha vines.
