Fiano’s true home is a couple of hundred miles to the north in Avellino, but trading the altitude of Campania for the moderating coastal influence of south-west Sicily seems to do the trick, and this bottling provides a good account of the typical Fiano style for a great price.
Blending freshness with richness of fruit is a Fiano speciality, and this one has some lemon, ripe peach and grapefruit on the nose- these follow through to the palate, with lemon pith and medium acidity contributing to a freshness on the finish. It’s got a medium-plus body and a medium finish. The wine is ripe but pure and fresh, beautiful for a summer evening and frankly it makes you want to go on holiday to the Sicilian coast immediately.
Grown in clay at 150/300m altitude, vines facing S/SE. 15 day fermentation at 17 degrees in steel vats, no oak or MLF.

Citrus fruits, grapefruits and lemons. High acidity but balanced well with fruits.

Very good, worked surprising well with Mushroom Risotto which I thought might overpower it.
