  • Fiano’s true home is a couple of hundred miles to the north in Avellino, but trading the altitude of Campania for the moderating coastal influence of south-west Sicily seems to do the trick, and this bottling provides a good account of the typical Fiano style for a great price.

Blending freshness with richness of fruit is a Fiano speciality, and this one has some lemon, ripe peach and grapefruit on the nose- these follow through to the palate, with lemon pith and medium acidity contributing to a freshness on the finish. It’s got a medium-plus body and a medium finish. The wine is ripe but pure and fresh, beautiful for a summer evening and frankly it makes you want to go on holiday to the Sicilian coast immediately.

Grown in clay at 150/300m altitude, vines facing S/SE. 15 day fermentation at 17 degrees in steel vats, no oak or MLF.

  • Citrus fruits, grapefruits and lemons. High acidity but balanced well with fruits.

  • Very good, worked surprising well with Mushroom Risotto which I thought might overpower it.
