Somehow this pulls off a tightrope walk between intense and almost inky boysenberry fruit and bright/crunchy freshness. Far better on the second night, as there was significant reduction evident on the first night along with just a little spritz. We BYO’d this to a restaurant and perhaps some eyes were turned in our direction when I poured the wine back and forth between two wine glasses around 20 times. That helped blow off some of the reductive aroma and solved the spritz, but it really was far better and more expressive the next evening.

5 hour decant. Very dark. Violets, strawberry, blueberry, lots of acid notes that carry with some sour (green?) strawberry well into the finish. This is structured and young and serious but still oh so tasty.
