Option for the 2023 World Lambrusco Day was the cloudy, delicate & enticing Phermento (v20) by Medici Ermete out of Modena & made on the metodo ancestrale. In 2022, I enjoyed the rosé cuvée of the same producer, a fair yet somewhat monotonous drinking experience. This year around, I opted for this fermented-styled shocker. Cherry red, completely cloudy in the glass. Nose brimes w red fruit - sour cherries, grape, blood orange, unripe raspberries, yeast. Palate fresh, yeasty, layered, cool, relaxed, closing bitter! Fair acidity & complexity, fun drinking for sure.
