Probably the best Syrah I've had from Anthill, and I have been a HUGE fan for over a decade, having first tried their Sonoma Coast Syrah and only more recently been exposed to their single vineyard Syrahs. Anthill's interpretation of Syrah is reliably fresh, lifted and elegant. I love it.
This 2019 Peters is simply gorgeous. Aromas of blackberry, tiny wild blueberry, copious airy spice and flowers (pepper, mint, lavender, violets.. ), citrus and damp soil, sundried tomato and bacon... The complexity and contrast here is striking, this great Syrah. Supple and fresh on the palate, waves of fresh dark fruit, fine tannins grip lightly but long, incredibly deep acid structure yet this hardly cuts, buoyant and velvety, this has amazing texture and mid-palate depth. Primary through the finish, an intense flood of perfectly tart black fruits lingers long before subtle spicy, mineral, herbal and floral tones fade out. This is going to be worth following a decade plus, no doubt.

Earth, bramble, green pepper, and blueberry compote on the nose. Excellent balance of acidity, fruit, and earth on the palate. Pop and pour and ready to roll.

Pleasant enough right now, but I think this needs some time to develop complexity.
