  Extremely tight Nose, with some faint strawberry licorice. Medium to medium+ acidity on the palate; tannic; earthy and vaguely red-fruited; 13.5% alc. well-hidden; seems like it needs time. As it drinks today, it's inoffensive but also not terribly interesting.

  80% Sangiovese and the rest native varieties including Abrusco, Pugnitello, Malvasia Nera, Ciliegiolo, and Mazzese. The medium-high intensity nose has savoury and wet earth aromas flecked with subtle red cherry, dried cherry, floral, and wood spice notes. On the medium-full bodied palate it has tangy aroma replays along supported by structured chalky tannins and very good, juicy acidity. Wood spice with subtle cherry notes linger on the finish, with excellent length. Score: 92+ pts
