  • From glass pour at a wine bar in Bend. Quite smooth and easy-drinking. Cherry fruit with light black tea tannins and hints of vanilla on the finish. Paired well with arancini!

  • In style, a cross between the deep, dense Washington State Cabernet Francs and the lighter, more fruity Cabernet Francs from the Loire. Extremely well made and surprisingly drinkable despite its young age. Thankfully for this style, oak is not an intrusion.

  • Very pretty wine. Much better and more expressive on day 2 so I would recommend a substantial decant. Bummed I opened my only bottle thinking this should be drunk in its infancy. I suspect this continue to improve over the next few years and will hold well for the rest of the decade.

Initially a bit grapey with a slight metallic quality, but opened up with a really pretty nose of black and red fruit, garrigue-like herbalness, bitter chocolate.

Palate has great tension. Fine grain tannins and bright acidity, really elegant overall.

  • Not as impressed with this Oregon Cab Franc as I thought I'd be, but it's still very good. Blackberry bramble, black cherry, strawberry jam, black pepper, sweet tobacco, and cola on the nose. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Black fruits and spice. Well-balanced wine. I'd recommend cellaring longer and drinking towards the end of the drinking window.
