Light ruby with a touch of garnet. Fine light colour. Transparent. Notes of dried strawberries and cranberries. Citrus peel - flavour and texture - blood orange. Lovely mineral and stoney core. Quite a bit of fine tannic structure - so I think this has years to go and will be interesting to see how. Savoury and definitely a food wine. Long. Light to medium body. Fresh. Depth of favour belies the light colour as is the case with Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. Excellent indeed.

Another disappointing showing, although different to the most recent bottle, this one not being screechy but rather soft, and frankly dull. Pleasant red fruit and... that's it.

Goodness, very disappointing compared to my prior bottle. A little screechy and not a huge amount of perfume. Some attractive juicy fruit made it a decent accompaniment to some BBQ pork, but didn't elevate it into fine wine territory.

Decanted 1 hour. Light garnet color w/soft acidic aroma. Fair legs w/flavor of red licorice, plus & soft cherries. Mildly acidic finish. Was surprised by the lighter profile of a wine from Etna area.

TWS North London - Volcanic Wines (Must & Lees, N1): Knockout: very herbal, floral on the nose: bergamot, violets, raspberry and cranberry. Quite joyful - it has a core of richness but is also light and transparent. Nice concentration and a touch of sweetness on the palate. Really lovely and does the Etna 'thing' very convincingly- it lives in the universe of Pinot but it's not trying to be anything other than what it is, and it's all the better for it. Plus there's a picture of a volcano on the label, which is worth at least a point.
