  Pretty nice, although a bit tough to get a bead on- felt pretty closed most of the time, only showing a bit of nice rich fruit and oak at the very end. Maybe it just needs a bit of time. Kind of a vague chocolatey dark raspberry on the nose and palate for a while at first, with a bit of alcohol heat. I liked the structure at least, which was pretty hefty without being needlessly tannic/coarse.
  
  At the end of day 2, I got much blacker fruit on the nose, sort of a spiced black plum kind of vibe with richer vanilla oak. Really very nice, although that only partially translated to the palate, which remained more vague. My first time trying this winery, a gift from a friend. Enjoyable, just didn't grab me.
