  • Light gold. Muted nose, possibly too cold straight from fridge. Mouth, golden fruits: lemon, yellow apple melon. This has an acidic entry but when it warms in the mouth, and then the glass, it’s full of ripe fruit. Honeyed, tropical but not at all blousey. This has no or little oak and the interplay of the grape varieties leads you first to a tourraine Sauvignon and then down to SA Chenin before offering a smidge of warm Macon Chardonnay and finally the charontais melon. What a good wine. The spine of acidity keeps it clean and bracing but the fruit brings a smile to the face. I imagine this would be the perfect accompaniment to a melon and Serrano platter.
