Aged nicely. Brightness has mellowed from earlier tastings. Initial flavor has very deep / dark red fruit coming to mind; mainly dark cherry and ripe raspberry. Very smooth on the palate with a long earthy finish. Defiantly a SLH classic to savor. Probably need to drink the remainder of these bottles within the next 6 months to year as the wine seems to be peaking; at least in my cellar. No complaints there!

I found this to be lighter than most of the fruitbombs I've been drinking lately. Well balanced, classic earth/cola taste from a Santa Lucia pinot. Really enjoyed it

Another fine effort from this winery. Popped and poured. The nose is typical of what I find in SLH Pinots, earth, dirt and a nice pinot funk. A nicely balanced effort with a nice core of pomegranate, raspberry and dark fruit flavors. Has a nice zing of orange and citrus that glides through the middle of the wine. Ends with some hints of baking spices. I really like the texture of this wine, it has a fullness, plushness and weight, but stays like on its feet. More on the powerful, masculine side of pinot. I dare anyone to try and detect the 15% alcohol in this wine, you just can't. Very enjoyable, especially for the $34 price tag. Those who like SLH pinot will enjoy this and find it a great example of the appellation.

Darker end of Pinots, medium garnet. Concentrated dark berry raspberry, crisp bright sweet fruit with good acidity and a spiciness (oak). Prominent tannins. Over a course of 2 hours the wine has opened considerably. This wine could easily go another 3-5 years. You would never pick this out of a lineup as a Livermore Valley winery. The one flaw or negative, if you want to call it that, is a bit of noticeable oak that distracts a bit from the beautiful fruit, although it should integrate over time. All in all, an outstanding effort.
