At Kerala Private Dinner. Opened 1 hour. Dark Ink, almost no translucence. Burnt brambles, cherry confit, a little musky and mushroom. Very full mouth, concentrated, but fading. Brambles, red fruit reduction, burned, smokey. Surprisingly better than expected given CT reviews. But at 15 %...stood up to curries (lamb, even fish and tiger prawns, spicy chutneys)...good match for South Indian food.

While there is no obvious flaw (tca, brett etc), this is one of the most unpleasant wines I have ever had. Remarkable that they could make a wine so unpleasant and more remarkable that a respected wine critic could give it a 93!

Black as night. My teeth were stained after a glass. The nose was scorched fruit with road tar. Smelled like fresh pavement. Hot on the palate and utterly horrid finish. If you are looking to get drunk then this wine is for you. Total Crap.

Tasted at Vintage Wines, Ltd. tasting bar. Bright disc with opaque purple robe and red rim. Moderately intense nose of black fruit, oak and vanilla. Good acidity, full-bodied, with ample, slightly astringent tannins. Impressive attack and mid-palate, dominated by black fruit, oak and cedar. Long, tannic finish. Very nice now, this wine will clearly improve with a few years' patience.
