PnP. Plenty of sawdust with red fruit on the nose. Interesting layers of tart red fruit with lots of acidity and earth and minerals... it's hard to pick out specific. Sharp, peppery finish with leather, earth, and lots of oak. This was drank late without a lot of thought but I can see holding it longer or decanting it. 91+ points.

This Grenache is rather light, I would say pale ruby in the glass. The nose has medium intensity aromas of raspberry, red cherry, violets, pomegranate and dried spices. The palate is dry and lively with ripe red fruit, medium acidity, lithe tannins and a medium body. The floral and spice components are not as pronounced on the palate but I now get some charred wood and rooibos tea instead. The finish is medium in length and a touch tart, refreshing. I like this $35 effort and give it 93 points and 5 stars. It will drink well now and age gracefully till 2030. Pair with lighter meat dishes or even poultry.

Retail $75. 100% Grenache. Under screw cap. One does not see a ton of wines north of, say, thirty bucks, but it is much more common Down Under and I am just fine with that. As one would expect from a 100% Grenache, this is fairly light in the glass and translucent. The aromas and flavors, however, are anything but light with plenty of fruit (black cherry, blackberry, raspberry), with some dark earth and spice. The palate really showcases the fruit, particularly initially, followed by some balancing tartness and depth. My initial thought, before the first twist of the cap? A $75 Grenache from Australia would likely underwhelm. But this is Kay Brothers, which I have always found impressive. This is a lovely wine, one that I could drink all night long.

Agree with prior reviews. Bright raspberry fruit. Still a little tight when opened.
