PNP into Triton plastic Burgundy glass (“No” day): Pale garnet to the eyes.
On the nose, this has dark red cherries and berry notes, smoke and dried florals, very slight hint of oxidation.
On the palate this is hard to “hide” the super rich fruits known for the region. Some distinctive bitter notes so may be a little too much phenolic extraction for my liking. The structure is still very good with ample acidity and silky tannins. Finishes with again some faint hints of VA that suggests its age.
Drink up! 92-93 points.
