Tasted at Caviste, Hampshire, UK, wine dinner featuring ten Rusden wines, introduced by owner Mark Bedford, with Christian Rusden joining online from the Barossa. My first experience of Rusden zinfandel. As a zin fan, I had high hopes and I wasn't disappointed. Very dark cherry in colour, almost black. Ripe blackcurrant fruit, quite a big wine, but very approachable. Really interesting to try a Barossa zin and compare against the more familiar Californian zins.
