Pale, almost colorless whitish-green color. Clean, youthful and somewhat restrained nose with fruity aromas of ripe lemony citrus fruits, some smoky reduction, a little bit of primary pear-driven primary fruit, light stony mineral tones and floral hints of apple blossom or rose petals. The wine is fresh, light-bodied and quite acid-driven on the palate with off-dry flavors of steely minerality, some lemony tones, a little bit of sharp Granny Smith apple, light funky notes of sponti character, a hint of sweet grapey fruit and a slightly acrid touch of SO2. Focused high acidity. The finish is fresh, off-dry to dry-ish and quite fruity with medium-long flavors of fresh golden apples, some pomelo-driven citrus fruits, light grapey tones, a little bit of steely minerality, a reductive hint of gunpowder smoke and a touch of sponti funk.

A nice, fresh and fruity little Kabinett, but one that feels still a bit too youthful for its own good - the fruit department feels a bit understated and the aftertaste a bit clipped. However, I imagine these could be only because of the somewhat reductive nature of the wine, which masks some of the finer youthful nuances. Give the wine a few years more so it can blow off its reduction and funky sponti notes and it'll sing. Expect the score to get higher as the wine ages.
