I loved this. 100% Marsanne sparkling wine with a yellow gold colour with fine bubbles. Layers of flavour with ripe peach, honeyed notes with some saffron and turmeric. Great value at £18 a bottle. A long finish and utterly compelling.

Bottled recently after six years on the lees. Took this to an all-champagne tasting where the toastiness and richer fruit stood out as different in a good way, but the grape type and regional origins flummoxed a group of very experienced tasters because, after all, who would suspect a bubbly from the Northern Rhone? Great ringer.

Brut nature; disgorged January 2022. Very appealing toasted nose, which is really no surprise after 6 years on its lees. However, the palate is much brighter and had a bit less depth than I would have imagined or hoped for. That being said, still a very fine bottle of bubbly that I would likely buy again.
APPEARANCE: Color & intensity: medium gold
NOSE: Intensity: medium (+) Aromas: yellow apple, toasted almond, toasted grains, quince, pear, dried lemon, crushed stone, hint of white flowers Development: developing
PALATE: Sweetness: dry Acidity: medium Alcohol: medium Body: medium Mousse: delicate Intensity: medium (+) Flavors: yellow apple, pear, quince, toasted almond, lemon, lemon zest, wet stones, hint of salt Finish: medium (+)
CONCLUSIONS: Quality level: very good Potential for ageing: can drink now, but has potential for some further ageing
