  • Granted that Horse Heaven Vineyard is somewhat legendary and has a great pedigree of wine. This is not one of them. This wine has little ripe fruit and comes across as steely and all minerally stone with some touches of citrus. I just don't enjoy it very much and even though it is young it does not improve one day to the next. This is a Costco selection at a decent price but I won't be buying any more. There are a variety of Sancerre's quite popular now - but most of them are to my liking. If price is no object, try something from Monts Damnes, preferably made by one of the Cotat brothers.
