In a world of wines that often tread the line between ostentation and approachability, De Négoce can finally bridge the gap between the working man and his Santa Barbara born and raised, first world problem having mother-in-law who relentlessly criticizes every decision you make.
Pouring a pale golden hue, this Chardonnay opens with a delicate bouquet of orchard fruits and a whisper of citrus. It immediately sets the tone for an unpretentious yet engaging experience. The nose doesn't scream opulence, but rather invites you to the proverbial table with an air of familiarity.
On the palate, the wine strikes a balance between crisp acidity and a subtle creaminess. Green apple and pear dance harmoniously, accompanied by a hint of vanilla that adds a touch of warmth. The oak influence is present but restrained, contributing to the wine's structure without overshadowing its fruit-forward nature.
The finish is clean and lingering, leaving a gentle reminder of the Chardonnay's presence. What sets Lot 273 apart is its accessibility; it doesn't demand a special occasion but graciously enhances one.
De Négoce Chardonnay Lot 273 (2018) is a versatile companion for those seeking an everyday white wine that bridges the gap between sophistication and approachability. It's a delightful sip that elevates the ordinary moments without the need for grand gestures.
Buy a case for your mother in law and may be the only gift you got her that won’t be returned to you in her will.

Tasted blind. Wonderful nose of underripe banana, vanilla cream, pear, some lemon zest. The palate had similar aromatics and was medium bodied with decent length some medium - acid. Really reminded me of chassange montrachet in style but obviously not from the region as to me it was missing that earthy burgundian tell. Seemed to me like a new world oaked chardonnay made in an old world style, although I did not think this was California as it was much less ripe than those I have had before. I guessed possibly Oregon but I'm not too surprised this is RRV single vineyard as the Ramey I've had from the region gave similar underripe characteristics. All in all a very delightful wine for new and old world chardonnay drinkers.

Just a nice balanced Chard. Didn't need much air to shine.
