  Good, fruity bouquet. Full bodied, with a surprisingly easy/light finish. Hints of various berries and maybe a slight peppery kick just so you know it's a Syrah. Big, but not too big. Very good. Definitely ready to drink, but hasn't started turning yet. (Did have to filter, however.)

  Popped and poured last night. Wonderful fresh berry nose, with fresh blackberry, boysenberry and cherry flavors. A little hot, but the flavors stood up. Medium finish with some dry dust countering the sweet. Overall, very accessible with more complexity than a simple quaffer.

  Deep color. Great nose with a hint of bacon while decanting and in the glass. Nice long finish. Good acidity to go with the lamb, but also full-bodied to drink on its own.

  Immediately interesting with a very rich palate-profile. Initially thought that it was a tad hot from what I was sensing as too high alcohol. I'm not sensing a ton of acidity, which surprises me from a cooler vintage in this cooler AVA. At one point, mid-way through the bottle, I caught just the slightest hint of Alexander Valley-ness, which I have only previously identified in the Bordeaux varietals...I can't explain, but it was there! This wine came together really well and had all the stuffing that I required to up the score a bit. In conclusion & comparison, I'd have to say that this is more in the style of a Paso Syrah than a Dry Creek or Napa offering. I'd buy this wine again...if under the $25 tag.
