  • This was fabulous and the wine of the trip. Purchased at their degustation and office in Calce. The drive from Maury to Calce is gorgeous and fun, but not for the feint of heart! I gather La Mundata is either the name of the farm or locality where it’s located. The wine is reminiscent of some of our favourite wines from Priorat, like Clos Mogador and Clos de L’Obac, in that it’s powerful, but elegant with a long finish. I think it could age 20 years with no problem and it would be fascinating to find out where it will go. But, we bought it to consume and consume it we did! We popped on the terraza in Tossa and enjoyed it with aged Iberico and Manchego. We drank it over 6 hours. In recent years the cepage is some combination of Grenache and Carignan, generally 80/20ish. The Grenache and Carignan vines are 50 to 120 years old, respectively. Spices, dark cherries and plums earthy. Elevage is in 12HL to 39HL foudres, so there's really no oak signature. We drank it early, but there's no doubt this wine will improve over time.
