Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • 100% Tempranillo from 42 acre dry farmed estate owned vineyards. This wine is aged in 100% French oak, the first 6 months in 3 yr old barrels, and the second 6 months in new oak. The color is a medium purple red ruby hue. Powerful aromas with a little age, my nose picked up barnyard, chocolate, tobacco, brown sugar, black cherry and eucalyptus. Dry, medium bodied, tart acidity, medium astringent tannins and a long finish. Flavorful on the palate, strawberry jam, raisin, black plum, and dried herbs. This is a funky earthy modern style Rioja with a slight touch of "brett". 3/5
