Philly Wine Group Top French Wines Themed Dinner (The Prime Rib, Philadelphia): Light to medium golden yellow. PnP at the restaurant. Fragrant white florals and citrus on nose. Nice bright acidity (medium+). Slightly lean texture that might have added some weight if given a little more time to open up. Good dose of minerals and saline along with the lemon citrus and floral notes on the medium long finish. This was better with the crab cocktail with creamy mustard sauce (with which it was great) than the lobster in butter. Very enjoyable but a definite contrast in style to the Corton Charlemagne, with this being much more lean and mineral. Lovely! But seemed very different than the bottle I took notes on 2 years ago, this one fresher, younger and leaner than the last.

For our Philadelphia wine club dinner at the Prime Rib. Soft citrus nose oak. The palate is more medium bodied green fruit and citrus and oak, glycerine with round mouthfeel. Paired with crab cocktail and lobster.

Having been a bit alarmed by the advanced maturity of a couple Louis Latour '06s and '07s, had to give this a go: Full golden color (anxiety rising), nose of citrus peel, white flowers and just an acceptable amount of the typical wood smoke I find in Meursaults. (It is generally my least favorite WB village due to the too common overt intrusion of oak) This was classy and complex, perfect acidity, good extract and mouthfeel. FULLY MATURE. Drink up!

100 Point (Parker or other) Wine Dinner Organized by Steve for 6 "Wine Guys" (The Prime Rib, Philadelphia): Popped and poured to drink with our first course...went particularly well I thought with the spicy soft shell crab as a nice rich counterbalance to the spice. Rich, medium to dark golden yellow color. Nose is very creamy and full of citrus, like meyer lemon, and tangerine and a moderate amount of oak/smoke. Flavor is rich, honeyed and creamy showing a lot of lemon curd on the finish, but I didn't notice a lot of minerality. This had low to moderate acidity and seems to be at the tail end of its peak drinking window though clearly able to have a graceful decline over the next several years in a good cellar.

Colour is medium yellow, straw. Nose is of hazelnuts and apple juice. Lacking acid but not power or interest. This last bottle of the case makes a graceful exit....
