Even during its introductory fleshy phase, there's sufficient salinity to keep one from feeling like an impetuous alcoholic douchebag, and on nights 2 & 3, swooning is the only appropriate overreaction. Apricots, floral both as taste and texture, and, if you poor man's decant the everliving F out of it, lychee Need to hide the remnant of this in a light fixture like Don Birnam to see how it evolves If you're a Bostonian Alsatiophile, Blanchards d'Allston has boxes of Boxler and Ostertag headed straight for the discount bins. This was $45 and East of Eden was 35; they also have 2018 Boland about 35, and Bal des Masques in the low 20s, for example
Say, this 86 d'Yquem sounds intriguing, I wonder how much it Whoah, nevermind

Papies at 30 (The Waterside Inn): By the glass at The Waterside Inn. This was served with Yquem 1986 ( Papies 92) and frankly rose well above it. Impressively bright and even at this youthful stage complex and with a well balanced rich core. Floral and expressive and just excellent. 94

Bright clear good and rather viscous in the glass Botrytis tinged lychee nose Quite viscous and sweet on the palate, ripe lychee and pineapple rose flavors with quite a bit of phenolic bitterness on the back end. This seems rather lacking in acidity leaving this quite fat and detracts a bit from an otherwise lovely wine.
