Friday late night at home with neighbourhood friends. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of briney wet stone and saline minerality, sea-shell, light honey, burnt sugar and buttered popcorn. Developing. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon, salty briney wet stone minerality, burnt sugar and buttered popcorn. Long finish. Very good quality. Quite unique odd character. Chardonnay but hard to place. Quite clean for a Ganevat. Interesting to see where it goes in a few year's time.

A private lunch with friends (Restaurant De Lage Vuursche, Lage Vuursche, NL): Organic viticulture, old vines on argilo-calcaire, aged ouillé for three years in neutral oak without any intervention, bottled unfined and unfiltered on 3 November 2021 without added sulfur. Quite a full yellow colour, earthy and silky, gently nutty finish.

This is still a bit primary, but very pure. Doesn't have quite the same intensity as other vintages, but perhaps it just needs a little more time in bottle.

Almost colourlessly pale.
A very pure, if muted wine at this stage, subtle and young. The rest of my bottles can look forward to a long sleep.
