Community Tasting Notes (3)

  • Pretty color, golden. Really light aroma, J says it smells like cold butter and crappy riesling. It's got faint hints of Chardonnay on the nose but at cold temperature it really doesn't smell like much. On the palate it tastes green grapes, green apple, lemon citrus and has a distinct minerality in the finish that is quite nice. It ends a bit short but the acid and mineral character in the finish provides a really interesting textural thing that I really like. Overall not a great wine but it's drinking pretty good. I would not age this wine any longer, drink up.

  • Improved over 2 days but overall this is rather forward.
Started with a hint of minerality and a lot of lemony notes but then moved to orchard fruits, apricot, peach, mandarin and some mango. Med to full body, it has good acidity for a 2006 but the finish is pretty flat, not focused with a creaminess, buttery texture. The nose at times also reminded me a orchard flavored yogurt.
All in all, what I was expected from an 2006. Not my favorite vintage for sure.

  • From cask: Quite fat and nutty nose with a floral touch : very nice, and reminiscent of a Meursault. Fresh clean and bright in the mouth. Good for what it is. 3-
