From the plots of Pommard and Volnay comes this gorgeous Bourgogne courtesy of A.F. Gros. Cherry, raspberry, red plum and strawberry jaunt alongside some nice minerality, cola and earthy gusto here. Moderate oak and smoke stand nicely with the terroir notes and slightly gamey nose before moving to the maw where a medium-light body and structured acidity make way for a medium-long, delicate and casually warm finish. Drinking great now, especially after some ample air time, but a couple more years in the cellar and this one ought to be absolute magic.
