Decanted through a Vinturi aerator and serially sampled over three hours, this deep ruby Zinfandel has a distinct aroma and flavor profile. Ripe, but not overly so, it delivers a package of apricots, dark plums, cocoa, rose petals, black tea, mint and five-spice. Medium-to-full-bodied, freshly acidic, lightly oaked and with impressively well-integrated alcohol (especially for a 15.3% label), it has good mid-palate density and finishes medium-to-long. This wine pairs beautifully with soft cheese. Give it an hour or more of air if possible. Drink now-2027.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (J&L's): Double blind. Opens with an odd vegetal note what I can only describe as canned peas, though it's more interesting than distracting so on we go. Aromas of mixed red and black fruit underneath. Medium-bodied, with flavors of pepper, chocolate, red plum and sandalwood. Nice. (R&S)

Solid wine. Another distinctive with from Turley. The pluminess mellowed out after about three hours and became much more balanced. Hold the rest for another year and will be potentially epic.

Black fruit bramble and a bit if chocolate on the back palate, balanced fruit and structure, drinking nice right now.

Bold, fresh fruit abounds.
There is a subtle underlying spice, but the fruit (red and blue berries) is front and center.
Very good zin.
