  • Tasting great. So smooth and balanced. But undeniably Rutherford.

  • Second Judgment of Madrid, Still an Aficionados' Matter (Restaurante Garcia de la Navarra - Madrid): Black pitch colour. Very fragant, full of black fruit. Elegant and classy. Balanced and elegant on the palate with tamed tannins. Quite long, silky texture and magnific aftertaste.
Typically Rutherford intensity in a new silky glove. Once again biodinamic works.
Glad to see people really appreciates this charming winery. Even though it was previously unknown. 2nd place among reds.

  • Drunk from a magnum at my daughter's college graduation dinner. Nice fruit, soft tannins, overall, very nice.

  • 8% Franc. Wonderful wine, but it still needs a few years to show its best. With very light, fine tannin, and bright acidity it wobbles slightly across the palate, but only because of its youth, finally ending with medium length. It has interesting medium intensity fruit with Cabernet berry, dust/soil and some black olive developing. The small amount of Franc confirms that this is Cabernet, which I like. Overall, authentic, table wine, classy, not crafted for early drinking but very approachable and enjoyable now, needs 2-5 years. If now, give it an hour.

  • Damn, I'm all giddy-up for this one. One sniff says it all. Crimson purple on the eyeball with black pepper and cigarbox on the nose. Ahh, I smell the old country. A very elegant, classy, medium full nectar with delicious, chewy tannins. FLR is very Bordeaux like with flavors coming at me straight from fields. Earth and cedar, tobacco and currant, all wrapped up in a chewy, blackfruit tortilla. The finish is savory and elegant. This wine has excellent structure and class. It makes one hell of a burrito, figurativley speaking that is.
