  Option for the 2022 National Zinfandel Day was the 2019 Eclipse Old Vine Zinfandel with origin Lodi, CA. Truly intense nose bringing candied, sweet and ripe blackberries, black currants, blueberries, cherries, hints of vanilla, barrel spice. Served chilled (12 degrees), this is non-complex, non-BS, fruit lemonade, non-noticeable tannins, just enough acidity to keep it from being jammy. Full-bodied, incredibly rich and straightforward, calm & deep, supple. Decently integrated alcohol, juicy finish. Not my style/wine, that’s for sure.
