No extensive notes taken, except this wasn't quite as good as some previous bottles. Just a bit less concentration, and didn't yield the buttery richness I expect from the Domaine as well as I'd hoped.
Still, it's always a pleasure to drink this, and was great fun to share with D & M in London!

Opened at Noble Rot Mayfair. Decanted and enjoyed over dinner.
Consistent with my previous bottle, which means it was absolutely gorgeous. Just got better with air and really punches above its classification. Buttery, rich, nutty, hints of toasted sesame - yet precise and backed by a great salinity. What more do you want? And I know that the village wines and the premier crus only get better...
There's probably upside to this bottle if you can keep your hands off it for a few years, but it's so utterly delicious now. A pleasure to share with R in London!

Opened at Noble Rot Lambs Conduit. P&P and enjoyed slowly.
This was very good - punching above its weight for a Bourgogne Blanc. This also definitely benefited from some air, and really got going after warming up slightly and having breathed a bit.
Compared to the Chassagnes... this is not quite as complex, and the buttery richness needs to be coaxed out with more air. Also, the acidity is present, but the forward minerality and acidity present in other cuvées is not quite there. As such, an excellent Bourgogne blanc, but also a clear step down from the other wines from the Domaine, which is exactly as it should be.
As with my previous notes from this Domaine, I'm enjoying their wines more and more every time I have them. What a treat, and a real pleasure to share with A!

A private dinner (Noble Rot Wine Bar & Restaurant, London, UK): From Les Grandes Corvées (although not indicated on the label), a plot in the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet but outside the AOP, adjacent to the village climat La Corvée, vines planted in 1990, two years in wood, bottled by hand without fining, 13% ABV. Expressive nose, salted lemon, mirabelle, white flowers, yeasty complexity, gentle wood, fudge, deep and commanding; good volume on the palate, hint of cream, firm and structured, clear and concentrated, oval shape, great energy, silky texture; long and layered finish. With many producers this would be Premier Cru level.

Dinex Group 2/14/2023 - Very fine indeed. Lovely purity of fruit and freshness. More open than 17 Champs Gains several months ago.
