I agree with the Winemaker Notes: "Sappy ripe red fruits in the nose with garrigue notes. In the mouth the wine presents plush soft boysenberry fruit, tons of garrigue, and hints of mint, anise and smoke; a pure velvety texture. Minerality and soil components emerge on the finish to create great balance and structure”;and Wine Spectator (92 points) notes: "Ripe and focused, with a core of dark plum and blackberry fruit supported by a well-embedded graphite spine, ending with tobacco and warm earth accents through the finish. Solid. Grenache and Syrah”.
Seems like a little brother/sister version of a CDP or Gigondas. Great value and a very good quaffing wine.

Taste: tannic and spicy. Some bitter blackberries. Almost wants to be koolaid, but the bitter tannins shut that down.
Overall impression: reasonably complex and probably a good value. Not really my style. Good for such a tannic wine. Might be interesting to sit on a few bottles for a while.

Great QPR. A little too sweet for my taste, but nice acid balance. Some Mourvèdre might help?

Color: ruby red with hints of violet
Nose: juice and pepper. Maybe some green tea.
