River School Auction Tasting (Washington DC): Incisive, bright, and young as heck. Good length, but outclassed in this tasting against aged Cameron and White burg. Good upside. A bit of oak still to be subsumed.

Upon opening a bit of smoke but far less than the PYCMs I drunk the other lunch, which in this instance quickly blows off (even though it is supposed to be a "smoke taint" vintage), followed by seaweed and salty seawater on beach pebbles.
Weight and viscosity on the palate (the Diam10s now make sense - this is a serious wine) with a lovely mouthfeel. More on the yellow fruits which are ripe but not too sweet, there is nothing confected or artificial here - purity in spades. It is saline and appetising and v refreshing with good length and real persistence on the finish.
I was expecting something less serious and made for immediate consumption, but this is a compelling Oregon white deserving proper cellaring (but do still try a bottle soon if you can - it is still a joy right now). 12.9% ABV from Zalto Universal and served PnP from a v cold cellar.

Revisited. Lemon and white grapefruit on the nose, midpalate is a bit more flabby and less chiselled / precise compared with previous bottle.

Very smoke tainted. Drinks like a scotch. Undrinkable for my palate.
