  • What a treat. 22 year old and still perfectly in balance. Nose of dried cherries. Tannins are nicely resolved. The age definitely comes through but it it still bright and lively. Kinda lost track of this so we've got a few more bottles that I would not hesitate to share with others. Great example of how well made, reasonably priced Bourgognes can mature.

  • Robitussin and dimetap when you sniff it from the bottle. In the glass, whole wheat pancakes drizzled with maple syrup and topped with cranberry jam. The mid palate has a strawberry acidity and a licorice root earth to it. The finish is all fruit skins.

I'm amazed that a little AC Bourgogne could be sat on in the cellar for five more years. I bought this as an afterthought in a clearance sale, and am thoroughly wishing that this is what all AC Bourgogne had going for it.

(Vougeraie Bourgogne Terre Famille) This shows exceptional density for the appellation. Medium-plus cherry. Nice nose with lovely concentration. Good tannins and acidity coupled with very nice fruit. Only the length of finish gives a hint to the appellation. Exceptional Bourgogne.
