Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 90.7 points

  • Nose of oak, lemon scented cleaning spray and some unpleasant soapiness. Medium weight. Oak is better integrated into the finish, which is long and pleasant with good structure. Solid score based on the finish and on the presumption that the nose will settle down into something nicer with a bit of air or cellar time.

  • Checks all the right boxes for a white Mercurey: Light golden color, fragrant nose blending Chardonnay fruit with cream from the malolactic and barrel fermentation (I would guess). Flavors are consistent with the nose plus some bitterness in the finish. A wine that will continue to develop for a few more years. Needs to be enjoyed at cellar temperature, not chilled.
