  • Tasted at Benvenuto Brunello in NYC. Medium to dark garnet color. Lots of oak and vanilla on the nose, seems muted overall…did the organizers of this tasting give the wines any air before serving? I suspect not at the nose on many wines today seem very muted… Palate shows good acidity and substantial tannic bite. Dry with cherry, chocolate and licorice. Short to medium length finish. I was wasn’t super impressed by this but I will bet the problem was PnP. I will therefore say this definitely needs some time in a decanter and/or in the cellar. It seems to have good “bones” though so my score reflects optimism based on my assumption.
