A nice summer wine from Williams Selyem’s Vista Verde Vineyard, located in San Benito, CA. Production is quite limited and this wine is, generally, only available at the winery.
The wine has a yellow color. Initially, the nose seems rich for a Grüner Veltliner, but I have not had much of this varietal. I believe this wine is fermented in large neutral oak barrels, perhaps Hungarian.
On the palate, you notice an up-front combo of minerals and iron, citrus peel and pith, plus green olive, tangerine, and pineapple. It’s hard to explain as it seems somewhat rich with medium counterbalancing acidity.
A fun summer wine and, like most Grüner's that I have had, best to drink young.
(Served with grilled pork chops with a gooseberry and coriander chutney glaze, turmeric rice, and broccoli.)

Slightly more petrol than previous vintage. Also, richer mouthfeel. Still very young. This wine could age a while with good results. Also will be a good patio wine in a couple months !
