Identified on the label as '2018 Alturis Venezia Giulia Cabernet Sauvignon'. Alturis is NE of Udine, on the Slovenian border; imported by United Cellars, Miami Gardens, Florida; 13% alcohol; composite cork with very little wine penetration (max of 1 mm), a whiff of the glue binder mixed with cherry-flavored cough syrup, light to medium weight foil; inviting nose of sour/sweet cherries, rhubarb, minerals; vinturied and tasted at room temperature (25 degrees C), some of the cherry-flavored cough syrup is still there, with a background of mineral-ly and slightly bitter tannins in the mid-tongue area and in the medium to long finish; Beigeschmack (secondary, accompanying flavor) of over-ripe kiwi and avocado that has ripened too fast, but without the avocado bitterness; something has gone wrong in the production of this wine and I don’t think it’s the fault of the cork, which was still tight in the bottle
