Some weird egg/sulpher thing on the nose that ALMOST - not completely - blew off after an hour. Beyond that, fresh thyme, cranberry, strawberry, orange peel, juniper berries, milk chocolate on the nose.
A lot less primary on the palate and also a LOT oakier. If it weren't for all the herbal flavors, I would think this was a new world BDX blend. Indeed, the palate adds smoke and vanilla, and the fresh thyme from the nose tastes more like dried thyme.
Medium body with medium acid and subtle, medium - tannins. Overall a tad strange, and not at all what I expected given the producer and price point; but the flavors (especially the herbal ones on the nose) are indeed interesting. 2-5 more years in the cellar will hopefully help the flavors integrate.

Really interesting BDX blend from Alto Adige with a bouquet of cassis, some orange zest, blackberries and slight coffee notes. There is a vein of acidity in this medium bodied wine which makes it balanced and structured, on top there is a very nice salinity. I would guess, this wine can easily age for another decade. On the second day it even slightly improved, giving it a little more body and smoothness.
