  • Drank at a tasting of mainly Alto Piemonte wines. Limited prior aeration. Reddish brown in the glass (dark brick). Aromatics are pleasant and would probably be better with some more air. Medium body. Fruit is vibrant. Sour cherry. Some lovely earth and mineral elements. Finish has a bit of length just hinting at herbal notes. Tannins are definitely present but are starting to integrate and relax.

This is a really well made wine. I think it has some room to run and will likely be much better with some more time in the bottle, a longer decant, and a fatty food companion. There is a level of restraint in this wine that is really nice; it's not an over the top beast. Reminds me of Cantalupo Carellae.
